Novel Studies
Goal
Novel Studies is a club for kids who love to read and will even delight those who need encouragement.
We select the best of children’s literature to provide the best possible English language model for students, and to engender a life-long love of reading.
Whilst reading the book, in a supportive small group learning environment, students will
• Develop literal and inferential comprehensions skills
• Develop reading skills
• Develop a love and knowledge of classical literature
• Develop text, plot and character analysis skills
Course Structure
• 2 hour lessons per week
• 10 weeks per term

독서토론반
“6세 7세 아이가 독서토론을 한다고?”
정규과정을 시작하기에 앞서, 딱딱한 교재가 아닌 아이의 흥미를 자극하는 다양한 책으로
학습에 첫 발을 내 딛는 독서토론 학습법은 공부에 흥미가 없는 아이에게는 새로운 호기심을,
책을 좋아하는 아이에게는 창의력과 독창성을 키워시켜주는 최고의 공부법입니다.
개인의 읽기 & 이해 능력에 따라 평균 1학년 후반부터 수업 시작이 가능합니다.
학습내용
집에서 정해진 분량의 책을 읽어오거나 수업시간내에 다양한 액티비티 게임을 통해
자연스럽게 책을 읽으며 내 생각을 말하고 나랑 다르게 생각하는 친구들의 의견도 들어보고,
한 주제에 대해 찬반으로 나누어 토론놀이하기
Why 질문에 대해 끊임없이 생각하고 똑똑하게 정독하는 법 배우기
• Why did the character do that? Would you do the same thing or
make same decision? Why?
• What did you learn from the book?
• What was the most interesting part? Why?
• Who would you recommend this book to?
수업방식
주 1회 10주 과정, 학년에 따라 90-120분 수업
